The hiking trail is ca. This is one thing that I didnt do when in Santorini- but it was about 100 degrees F every day we were there, so we were hibernating in our pool most afternoons. Definitely worth while, unlike any other hike youre likely to do! Location/what is it about: A hiking trail connects the villages of Oia (northern tip of the island), Imerovigli ('Balcony to the Aegean' in the centre west), Fira (Thira) the lively capital of Santorini. Since I was accompanied by a very pregnant sister and a 70+ year old mom, we hiked from Oia to Imerovigli. So best to avoid risking it and grabbing a couple of supplies to last you until Oia. If you are not feeling the best this is the perfect place to stop. The toughest part is the sun. Definitely worth doing it if you are visiting Santorini. Make sure to bring water and sunscreen. The path from Fira to Santorini is not easy concrete and during times youll find yourself ankle deep sliding down a stone hill. Amazing views. Santorini should fix this situation - it does not reflect well on how they care for this beautiful island. Only part that wasnt as enjoyable was probably the last ten minutes getting through Oiathe crowds were insanetrying to get through hoards of people to the finish was not as much fun!!
